The Children of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Nasarawa Province 1 have gladly joined other children across the Globe to celebrate the 2026 International Children’s Day in Grand style.
The leadership of the junior Church led by Pst. (Mrs) Caroline Ajayi has put up various programmes to be displayed by the children’s arm of RCCG Church to celebrate the day.
The programmes include Ministration in Words and Songs, News casting, Drama, Zonal Parade in various colours, and Easter Camp-out thanksgiving service to celebrate the day.
The International Children’s Day, as we know it is a day set aside by the United Nations (UN) to celebrate the children God has brought into the world through the family units as His inheritance (Ps127:3)
The Day is also celebrated to advocate for children’s rights, promote their overall welfare, and ensure they are protected, healthy, and educated for service unto God and humanity.
“It serves as a global call to action for adults and governments to listen to children’s voices and guarantee their fundamental human rights.
“The celebration is centered around several critical goals such as commemorates the anniversary of the UN Declaration (1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), which outline rights to life, education, healthcare, and protection from harm.
It highlights global issues affecting youth, such as extreme poverty, inequality, and lack of access to schooling, encouraging communities to take action and provides a platform for children to freely express themselves and share their ideas for creating a better world.
It equally serves as a joyful day to honour children, celebrate their healthy development, and nurture their potential as future leaders who need the charisma, God’s divine wisdom and understanding to lead like Joseph and David did in the scriptures
Today, here at the provincial headquarters, we are gathered before our Lord Jesus Christ to celebrate the day and worship Him in spirit and, in truth, giving our line-up programmes for the day.
This step aligns with the vision of the RCCG being coordinated by the General Overseer (GO), Pst Enoch Adejere-Adeboye, towards winning the entire world for the Lord Jesus Christ.”
The Bible affirms the importance of children in God’s kingdom. Jesus Himself welcomed children, saying, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14).
This highlights that children are not just future leaders but active participants in God’s work today.
Therefore, bringing children to church helps instil biblical values from a young age. They learn about faith, worship, and the importance of prayer, laying a foundation for lifelong discipleship. Proverbs 22:6 instructs, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
A church that promotes children’s capabilities, fosters an environment of love, patience, and inclusivity, encouraging multi-generational worship strengthens relationships and promotes the passing of faith from one generation to the next.
Children are not a distraction in church; they are a blessing and a part of God’s design for His people. By embracing children, churches fulfil their mission to nurture the next generation in faith.
A church that encourages and supports children will thrive for generations to come. As Jesus taught, welcoming a child in His name is akin to welcoming Him (Matthew 18:5). Let us embrace children in our churches with open arms, guiding them toward a lifelong journey with God.
On the latest happenings in Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), the church remains active in its nationwide expansion, recent community outreach (CSR) programmes, and hosting thousands of congregants at the Redemption City.
Our reporter quoted Pst (Mrs) Caroline Ajayi of disclosing that a major leadership transition at the prominent City of David Parish in Lagos—which occurred after the suspension of Pastor Idowu Iluyomade—has fully stabilized.
She also said: “Former Bank of Industry (BoI) Managing Director (MD), Pastor Kayode Pitan, is serving as the Parish Pastor and head of Region 20, overseeing successful thanksgiving services and the continued management of the Trinity Towers project, and that the Church expansion has been a wonderful milestone.
“The RCCG leadership continues to expand, recently creating new regions and provinces in states like Ogun and Lagos to accommodate a growing membership.”
“During the RCCG Annual Conventions, children are usually given special sessions to help coordinate and collaborate with parents in raising godly, purpose-driven children.”
Ajayi said that the Directorate of Teens and Children Education (DTCE), National body of the Junior Church is responsible for planning national programmes such as family weekend, camp out during Easter periods, May 27 children’s day and sales of junior church materials.
However, this year’s teachers’ prayer submit and children’s camp out were very successful under the supervision of Region 28 Coordinator, Pst (Mrs) Caroline Ajayi, Nasarawa Province 1junior Church Coordinator, Mummy Adeyemi and Pst Dele, the teens coordinator.
The RCCG junior Church is getting set for the forthcoming spelling Bee Competition during the RCCG August 2026 National convention.
