The Girls’ Brigade in Jos, on Saturday decorated the Plateau governor’s wife, Mrs Helen Mutfwang as the Grand Patron of the association.
Mrs Mutfwang, in her acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the association for the honour.
She pledged to uphold the values and principles of the organisation just as she commended the brigade’s role in shaping young girls into responsible citizens and followers of Christ.
According to her, young girls are the future leaders of the state and the country, hence they should be nurtured and supported to achieve success.
“As the governor’s wife , I have always been passionate about empowering young girls and promoting their welfare,” she said.
Mrs Mutfwang praised the brigade for its dedication to training young girls to be God-fearing and equipping them with important life skills.
She encouraged the young girls in attendance, to believe in themselves, pursue their dreams, and remain resilient in the face of challenges.
“ I want you to know that you have the power to shape your own destiny and to make positive impact in your communities.
“Never let anyone tell you that you are not good enough or that you cannot achieve your dreams,” she said.
She however, assured the association of her unwavering support while pledging to work with them in advancing their mission of empowering girls. NAN
