Police Name ASP Afusat as New PPRO in Kogi

The Police Command in Kogi on Monday,  appointed ASP Saliu Afusat  as its  new  Public Relations Officer (PPRO).

Afusat, who resumed duty on Monday, replaced  CSP William Ovye-Aya, who had been deployed to a new assignment by the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Kankarofi.

In a statement  on Monday, the commissioner of police congratulated and welcomed Afusat to her new role in the command.

Kankarofi  expressed confidence in her abilities to effectively communicate the command’s activities and initiatives to the public.

“The command looks forward to Afusat’s contributions in enhancing public engagement and promoting the image of the police  in Kogi, ” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Afusat, an indigene of Okene Local Government Area of Kogi, was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police on  Sept. 7,  2024, after completing a five-year training programme at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State,

The new spokesperson graduated in the academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry.

She had undergone relevant professional and leadership training, including a Virtual Assistant Certification Programme, Police Mobile Training at the Police Mobile Force Training College, Ende Hills, Nasarawa, and Leadership and Citizenship Training at Shere Hills, Jos, Plateau.

Prior to her appointment, Afusat served as Officer-in-Charge of the Gender Desk, B Division, Felele, and was previously deployed as the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi.  NAN
